The Dutchman's Untold Curse
Will Turner, the new Davy Jones and captain of The Flying Dutchman, sits in his cabin while the storm rages. His crew have retired to their quarters and the only one on deck is his father, Bootstrap Bill, who is steering through the Gail. as the ship rocks back and forth Will fingers the locket that was once the former captain's. the two lockets had been found in the wreckage of the Dutchman after the final battle with Cuttler Beckett. He had given one to Elizabeth and kept the other, to remind her of his love and his duty to the sea. He hoped it would give her some type of comfort and memory of him while they waited for the one day every ten years he could be with her on land.
The last time he had been able to walk on land, he had found his home torn apart and Elizabeth dead on the floor. In her hand she clutched the locket, stained with blood. A thorough search proved that the box that contained Will's heart was still safely hidden away. Will and Elizabeth's son, Henry, was also missing. Henry was now a soldier in the English Royal Navy. he was supposed to be on leave and at home, and yet there was no trace of him. they spent the day searching the island for his body but found no trace. reluctant to leave the island, but knowing what his duty to the sea he returned to the Dutchman. He was now searching the sea for any news of henry's whereabouts and Elizabeth's killer, his only consolation was that as Henry's soul had not found the Dutchman, he was still alive. The dead tell him that his home had been raided by the rogue crew of pirate hunters. They were ghosts who refused to move on to the afterlife. Their Captain had a vendetta against Jack Sparrow and had been searching for him and anyone affiliated with him. it seems that Will's family, as well as many others, had once again paid the price for Jack's adventures.
The notes on the locket play the melancholy tune again. As tears cloud his eyes, Will thinks on the legend of the Flying Dutchman. To become Davy Jones is to gain Immortality, to ferry the souls across to the afterlife. Every one knows the Curse of becoming part of the ship and sea if the captain neglects his job. However there is more than one curse. the captain's duty to the sea must come before his duty to his family and it is here that Turner's heart breaks. His wife murdered, his son missing, and he was not able to protect or defend them from the dangers that came for them. he had to watch, completely helpless, as they faded away and died, while he lived. This was the untold curse of the Flying Dutchman.
